An independent communications specialist, with experience in the Higher Education and Development sectors.
Chris is an independent communications consultant from South Africa, working primarily in the development sector. Through his communication work, he supports international causes, organisations and companies that harness the collective genius to advocate for and bring about positive global change.
After graduating from Stellenbosch University, he worked as communications officer and networks coordinator to help broker and manage academic partnerships between Stellenbosch University and other African universities. He has managed several European Commission-funded scholarships that promote the intra-African mobility of graduate students, aiming to increase research and publication on the continent, as well as the prospects of graduate employment. He has also provided communications support to Stellenbosch University networks that focus on building doctoral capacity in African universities and those that foreground disaster risk reduction education in Africa.
Recently, he worked as communications manager, providing stakeholder engagement services in a few countries where Climate Smart Agriculture projects from UK-AID were delivered, and is a communications consultant for the CGIAR’s World Agroforestry Centre.
Chris supports CSAYN on an ad hoc basis through communication materials and recommendations.
